[ Dec 2019 ] I was a guest speaker at the "Global Next Generation Science and Technology leaders Alumni Networking Forum on December 13, 2019.

I was a grade 5 civil servant and served for Ministry of Health and Welfare, South Korea. Also, as a young scientist that choson by Ministry of Science and ICT, South Korea, I joined the EKC forum, Vienna, Austria on July 2019. With my special experience, I was invited as a guest speaker and I introduced my life experience as a young scientist in South Korea. Also, discussed about future concern and what we should develop for our country.

We implemented "TeraVR empowers precise reconstruction of complete 3-D neuronal morphology in the whole brain" by Yiming Wang (2019)

In this research, they developed TeraVR, an open-source virtual reality annotation system. TeraVR integrates immersive and collaborative 3-D visualization, interaction, and hierarchical streaming of teravoxel-scale images. This alsp can produce the precise 3-D full morphology of long-projecting neurons in whole mouse brains and developed a collaborative workflow for highly accurate neuronal reconstruction. The author mentioned this was motivated by four difficulties detailed (1) observability, (2) big data handling, (3) interaction, and (4) validation.
Using virtual reality(VR) techniques for biological research, this demonstrate the applicability of TeraVR to challenging cases of whole mouse brain neuron reconstruction, achieving previously unattainable accuracy and efficiency
